Pure Clove Essential Oil
Clove Essential Oil: Overview
Clove essential oil is a volatile oil extracted primarily from the buds, stems, or leaves of the clove tree (especially hand-picked, unopened buds) of the Myrtaceae family, mainly through steam distillation. It ranges in color from pale yellow to brown and has a rich, warm, characteristic eugenol aroma. Its main active ingredient, eugenol, accounts for 80%-90% of its composition, giving it potent antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties. This essential oil is widely approved as a food flavoring and has extensive applications in pharmaceuticals and personal care, including: oral care to relieve toothache and inhibit oral bacteria; topical application to help treat minor skin infections and promote wound healing; diffusion to help relieve respiratory discomfort and soothe tension; and use as an insect repellent and to improve indigestion. Caution is advised when using this oil, as it is highly concentrated and irritating. It must be adequately diluted (recommended skin concentration ≤1%), and pregnant women, infants, and other vulnerable groups should avoid use.

Clove Essential Oil: Main Effects
I. Highly Effective Antibacterial and Broad-Spectrum Anti-inflammatory
This is its core biological effect. High concentrations of eugenol endow it with powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal capabilities, effectively inhibiting the growth of many common pathogenic bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, etc.) and fungi. Therefore, it is widely used for:
Oral Care: Diluted and used as a mouthwash or applied topically, it helps inhibit oral bacteria, assists in the prevention and relief of gingivitis and oral ulcers, and helps improve bad breath due to its antibacterial properties.
Skin Treatment: After thorough dilution, it can be used to assist in the treatment of minor skin infections, disinfect small wounds, and prevent inflammation.
II. Local Analgesic Effect
Clove essential oil has natural local anesthetic and analgesic effects. Its pungent components can act on pain nerves, temporarily blocking or reducing the transmission of pain signals, earning it the reputation of "the dentist's herb."
The most classic use is for emergency relief of toothache; a small amount diluted and applied topically to the painful gums or cavity.
Diluted clove oil can also be used for massage to relieve muscle soreness, joint discomfort, and neuralgia.
III. Promoting Circulation and Repair Support
This essential oil has a warming property, stimulating blood circulation in the skin and tissues.
Diluted clove oil massaged onto the affected area helps improve cold hands and feet, local stiffness, or bruising.
Through promoting circulation and its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it creates a more favorable environment for wound healing and tissue repair.
IV. Respiratory and Emotional Support
Respiratory Support: Its volatile aromatic components have expectorant and respiratory-clearing effects. Inhalation can help relieve nasal congestion, cough, and throat discomfort caused by colds, sinusitis, etc.
Emotional Regulation: Clove essential oil has a warm, spicy, and slightly woody aroma. In aromatherapy, it is believed to have uplifting, tension-relieving, and psychologically protective effects. Diffusing it helps create a warm, sheltered atmosphere, thereby relieving stress and anxiety.

Clove Essential Oil: A Comprehensive Guide
Clove essential oil, due to its potent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, is frequently used in various topical and aromatic formulations. Below is a series of practical formulation references. Before use, always ensure the essential oil is fully diluted and perform a skin sensitivity test.
I. Skin Care Formula
Purpose: To help improve rough skin texture and promote the healing of minor wounds.
Formula: 10 ml aloe vera gel + 1 drop clove essential oil + 1 drop tea tree essential oil + 1 drop cedarwood essential oil.
Usage: Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Apply an appropriate amount to the cleansed skin area requiring care and gently massage until absorbed. Suitable for spot application; avoid large-area application.

V. Mouthwash
Purpose: To aid in oral cleaning and freshen breath.

Important Notes:
Strict Dilution: Clove essential oil is extremely irritating and should never be applied directly to the skin or mouth. For external use, it must be diluted with a carrier oil. The recommended concentration for skin use should not exceed 1%.
Special Contraindications: Not recommended for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, infants, people with epilepsy, or those with sensitive skin. Consult a professional physician or aromatherapist before use.
Correct Use: Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not ingest without professional guidance.
Patch Test: Before using any new formula for the first time, perform a 24-hour skin test on a small area of the inside of your arm to ensure there are no allergic reactions such as redness, swelling, or stinging.
